I recommend this upmarket hotel, though I can't say the same for Hanoi. Its roads are narrow and packed with cars, motorbikes, and pedestrians all trying to get from place to place quickly. Ho Chi Minh City in the south also has huge traffic volumes, but its wider roads make it easier to get through the chaos. I'd give Hanoi one star and Ho Chi Minh City four. The latter is well worth seeing and experiencing.

The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was excellent quality. Service was just as good: the staff were kind and welcoming, regularly checked that we were comfortable or needed anything, and offered thoughtful recommendations without waiting to be asked. I've honestly never experienced hospitality this genuine before. One of my most comfortable hotel stays, and highly recommended.

The Anatole is right in the centre of Hanoi's French Quarter, a delightful place to stay. I loved being able to walk around the lake and along the tree lined streets. Even though our room was at the front near the street, we didn't hear any noise and slept really well. The beds were lovely and comfortable too. The staff were helpful and easy to deal with. I highly recommend the Anatole and have sent several friends from Australia to enjoy it.

We had spotless room, comfortable beds without hard mattresses, a delicious breakfast, and a nice roof terrace. The hotel's in a beautiful spot in the middle of the Old Quarter, close to Hoan Kiem Lake and St Joseph cathedral. Staff were friendly, helpful, and fun.

I really enjoyed my three-day stay at Anetole Hotel. The rooms were clean, and it's in an excellent location. What made the biggest impression was the service: the staff were friendly and cooperative throughout. Miss Phem deserves a special mention for being so helpful and sharing some great recommendations during our stay.
