Aurora Central Hotel

I spent six days here, and the hardest part was finding food I felt comfortable eating. On several days I ended up with just fruit and sticky rice because there weren’t proper vegetarian dishes for me. The property itself was decent, and breakfast was acceptable. But communication with the staff in English was extremely difficult, which led to repeated misunderstandings, especially in the restaurant. The cook and restaurant team seemed unfamiliar with Indian food and showed little interest in understanding or following basic ingredient requests. Even simple instructions got mixed up. Some vegetarian dishes used sauces or combinations that made them taste almost like non-vegetarian food, which was very disappointing for someone who prefers vegetarian options. The hotel needs to improve communication and staff training, and do a better job accommodating different food preferences, especially for international guests staying longer. More care with vegetarian and culturally sensitive food options would have made a real difference.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the clean rooms and facilities made for a great stay. There was even a kids’ area. My only concern was that the water pressure was lower than elsewhere in Vietnam, though that might be an issue with the area rather than the hotel. I’d recommend staying here.

We spent four nights at Aurora central hotel Hanoi and would happily stay there again. It’s in the old quarter, handy for shopping and restaurants, and a good spot to take in the busy city. The rooms were modern and well maintained, and the staff were responsive and accommodating. The service was commendable.

The hotel is easy to get around from, but our two-night stay had several frustrating moments. We were told on arrival that we’d be staying in a different room from the one we booked, and the service was so-so. We understand English isn’t their language, but staff could make more effort to communicate, or use Google Translate when needed. We ordered packed breakfasts for our early flight and specifically asked for extra butter, but it wasn’t included. Our laundry also came back later than promised. At 5 a.m. we told the front desk that two people would check out while our friend was still asleep in the room. They went ahead with the room check anyway. When I tried to explain that someone was still inside, they dismissed me and continued. That was really unacceptable. The receptionist was rude, too. Staff need better training in how to communicate with guests.
