Bonjour D'An Nam Home

The room was clean, the air conditioning strong, and it was reasonably quiet even in the middle of the Old Quarter. There’s plenty of good food close by, and the location made getting around easy. We were travelling with our 7-year-old and arrived late, so the airport pickup in a luxury vehicle for a reasonable fee took some stress out of the evening. A great base for our first Vietnam trip, with friendly, helpful staff.

Lucy was such a kind person to meet during our 10 days in Vietnam. She was lovely to chat with and shared local suggestions that made the trip more memorable. The rest of the staff were welcoming and ready to help whenever we needed something. The hotel sits right in the city centre, so we could walk to almost everything. We’d gladly come back and would recommend it to anyone visiting.

The location and connectivity are fantastic, with local food right nearby, so it could work well for a longer stay. The staff were kind and polite, too. But the room was tiny, with hardly any room to move, and looked nothing like the booking photos. We’d booked three nights and clearly told them we needed an early breakfast before leaving for a cruise. We still had to go without food. Service could do more to accommodate different kinds of travellers.

The location is excellent, with lots of attractions within walking distance. We had a really nice stay, though the soundproofing could be better, as seems common in Vietnamese hotels. The reception staff were what stood out most. They were exceptionally friendly, spoke very good English compared with other places we stayed, and quickly shared useful information about Hanoi and Vietnam. On arrival, one of them marked recommended places on a city map and gave us a flyer with haggling tips and advice about pickpockets. There’s a good chance we’ll book again when we return to Hanoi in a week.
