The staff were friendly and helpful, but sleeping here was difficult. The hotel is noisy, especially with the air conditioning on, and the rooms have no soundproofing. Rooms also aren’t cleaned every day. Drinks are left in the room and then charged at checkout, which felt like a rip-off. There’s no POS terminal, so everything has to be paid in cash. I struggled to find an ATM where I could withdraw enough before leaving.

Cầu Giấy gives you a taste of local life in Hanoi, and people in the area have been friendly. It’s a bit out of the way from Old Quarters, though, and locals aren’t very fluent in English. They can understand you, but usually don’t know how to answer. If it’s your first trip, I’d stick to Hoan Kiem District. If you want to experience local living, try Cầu Giấy.

Not sure what went wrong with Agoda, but my booking ended up being for a different place, Khach San Huong Duong. The receptionist was confused too. They gave me a room at first, then a few minutes later came back to say my reservation was at another hotel.

Great value for a big city like Hanoi. The room was neat, clean, and well presented, with all the necessary amenities. You can walk to lots of restaurants, and it’s 20min from old quarter.

Good service for a good price, and lots of facilities for a medium-sized hotel. It’s close to my office.
