Dom's Residence Hoan Kiem

They let us leave our bags after checkout, which gave us time for one last bit of exploring Hanoi. I appreciated that. The place was decent and well located, and it was fairly quiet at night. My room had air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a toothbrush, and a hair dryer. The front desk staff spoke enough English to get by, and the room looked clean and nice. They also offered laundry service, which was helpful. The door lock was a little odd: sometimes it locked by itself and sometimes it didn't, so I had to adjust the door. There was a switch for the hot water, and I must have turned it off while switching off the light the night before. They fixed it, but coming back around midnight and thinking I had no hot water for a while was annoying. I'd book here again.

The late night entrance routine is worth knowing: after 11:00 PM, the main gate is locked, and you need to open it with your key or code. Once you know that, it's straightforward. Dom's Residence Hoan Kiem was also much quieter than I expected for such a central spot, and the building and rooms felt new and very clean. My room was roomy, with a large bathroom and a genuinely big bathtub, a nice way to unwind after walking around Hanoi. The Hoan Kiem location made getting around convenient while still giving the residence a calm feel. To me, it was good value for a modern, comfortable stay.

We arrived around 1 am and checking in was no problem. The staff were kind and helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. It's in a quieter corner of the old quarter, though all the good food and nightlife are still within walking distance. We'd happily return, whether for a short visit or a longer stay in HN.

It felt like a home away from home for my family. The room had plenty of space, a kitchenette, and a huge bathroom, plus complimentary laundry and cleaning. Everything was spotless, with basic things like air conditioning, a TV, coffee maker, and microwave. The location is right among the attractions, but the apartment itself was peaceful and quiet. Loved it!
