Breakfast could’ve been hotter, that’s my main complaint. The location is great, with lots of local and Western-style restaurants nearby. For this kind of hotel, they do a great job. Everyone was lovely, from the doorman and front desk to the cleaning staff and breakfast room team.

The room layout was hazardous. My three-year-old and I hit the edge of the bed twice, and we ended up bruised. It did have a bidet in the toilet. There was mold and water staining on the walls, the dustbin was dirty, and the hotel didn’t provide an iron despite being rated four stars. I stayed for two nights in November, when it was rainy and cool, around 18°C. The location was handy in the middle of town, close to the famous Train Street, the market, and halal food, which helped us avoid time stuck in traffic.

At best, I’d call it a two-star hotel. It’s old and very outdated, and I’m not sure why it’s categorized as three stars. The location near the Old Quarter is the bright spot. Breakfast is decent, though the dining room is small.

The bidet and bathtub were welcome after a long trip, and the TV had lots of English-language channels. The location was handy for the places on my itinerary, too. There was no iron, and I spotted a baby cockroach or bug on the dresser just before it could get into my makeup bag. The walls had mold and water stains, and construction nearby made noise at night.

The staff were friendly and always smiling, but the double room was much smaller than its description suggested. There wasn’t even enough room to walk around.
