Era Apartment Kham Thien

Cockroaches were there right from the moment we entered. We even crushed two, then told the landlady straight away that we wouldn't check in and asked for our money back. She offered another room upstairs, but that wouldn't help since they were coming through the ventilation shafts throughout the building. After that, she stopped replying and kept the money. I found her extremely dishonest and wouldn't recommend staying here unless you want to take cockroaches home in your bags. There's a full video of it.

We rang the bell when we arrived, but nobody came to the door. The walk to the guesthouse was awful too, with dead cockroaches all over the path and live ones crawling around. We tried every number posted on the wall, plus the contacts on Booking and Google Maps, and none of them answered. It was a terrifying experience.

The mattress was hard, though I still slept comfortably. The hotel is affordable and well placed for visiting the sights, but cars can't reach it, so you'll need to walk from the lake. The kitchen had dishes, but no frying pan or forks.

I really enjoyed staying here. The caretaker was so friendly.
