Hanoi Cristina Hotel & Travel

I rarely leave reviews, but this stay was deeply disappointing. The hotel put me in a small rooftop room that looked nothing like the Deluxe Room I’d booked. It seemed like an unsuitable extension on the roof. There were only two outlets, one for the TV and one for the fan, so I had to unplug something just to charge my phone. The water went off twice at night, once for two hours and again around 9 p.m. We couldn’t shower or use the toilet properly. Worse, while I was out, someone entered my room to “fix the water” without my permission, and the hotel never told me. It showed complete disregard for guests’ privacy and comfort. I have photos and witnesses to support what happened. Please think carefully before booking.

Room 205 made it really hard to sleep. It overlooks the lobby, so you can watch and hear everyone checking in, and the thin curtains let the lobby lights shine in all night. The noise was ridiculously loud. People came back from the bars at all hours, someone had an hour-long phone call at 5 a.m., and even the night staff or security watched videos on their phones at full volume. Clean room, but if you get 205, run away.

The room had no mouldy smell, but the air conditioning wasn’t enough and the Wi-Fi was unstable. The included breakfast was very poor too. It’s downtown, but the quality for the price is poor.

The stay was clean and the service was excellent. Breakfast staff were polite, and there were fresh ingredients and hot soup. Clean towels and essentials were provided every day. Recommended.
