The outdoor setup was a fun change for us: the kitchen and bathroom are out on the balcony, so a morning shower came with the heat and sounds of the city. Inside, the AC worked well, and we were comfortable during our four nights. Having a kitchen, fridge, and washing machine was handy for simple meals, even though we didn't do much cooking. Contact with the owner was slow before arrival, then quick and good once we were staying there. We can recommend it.
I never really felt clean there, since getting to the sink and washroom meant opening the door to the outside. The kitchen and washroom being outdoors bothered me, even though I liked the living area. The place was dusty, including the kitchenware and toilet, and if you've been to the Old Quarter, you know how much dust gets around. Thin walls let the city noise right through, so I needed earplugs to sleep.
What stood out most was the personal service. Everyone who helped us went well beyond what we expected, and I'm truly grateful they made our Hanoi trip so memorable. The top-floor unit is spacious, clean, and well equipped, right in central Old Hanoi. It's four floors up, which cuts down the noise, and the balcony gives you a view of all the activity.
Right in the center, so expect plenty of noise. The place is roomy, with a really nice layout, and both the balcony and interior are cool.
A really local-feeling place, superb stay. Highly recommend for any travellers.
