Hortensia Flower Hotel & Spa

The main downside during my five nights was the loudspeaker right outside my room. I’d suddenly wake up to its announcement in the morning. The hotel is in a nice location near Hoan Kiem Lake, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely horrible and disgusting. We were supposed to stay for three nights, but after arriving yesterday we found dirty, used underwear hanging on the window, the bidet leaking across the bathroom floor, black hairs and dust scattered around the room, and blood on the bed skirt. We took the underwear downstairs to complain, but the man brushed us off and ignored the issue. This morning the room was covered in tiny bugs. I showed the staff a video, and they were incredibly rude and refused to refund us. I’m not someone who likes to speak up or “be a Karen,” but this was incredibly feral. After the man argued with me and had a go at me for 20 minutes, I managed to get half my money back. I’d give it no stars if I could. Please don’t stay here. Flora Centre Hotel & Spa is an amazing alternative, just a one-minute walk down the street. They kindly gave us a room at very short notice.

The location in the Old Quarter is fabulous, and the price is good for the area. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and could connect us with local tours and drivers. These are picky notes, but some facilities felt worn. A few outlets didn't work, and the elevator stopped unevenly at the first floor, so you had to step up or down. Still, having an elevator was helpful.

Everything was good. I had no issues with the hotel.
