The location made getting around easy, on a relatively quiet street and within walking distance of Hoan Kiem lake. We stayed at Imperial Hotel & Spa in an Imperial suite room overlooking the old quarter. It was spacious, and the staff had put rose petals on the bed and left us a complimentary bottle of wine for our wedding anniversary. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially John at the front desk, who arranged a Ninh Binh day trip and a coffee-making class. The hotel also stored one of our suitcases for a few days before check-in while we went on a Halong Bay cruise, and gave us coffee as a parting gift, which we appreciated since we love Vietnamese coffee. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was adequate. The shower sometimes drained poorly, leaving some water on the bathroom floor. We didn’t get a chance to try the spa, so I can’t comment on it.

The staff were amazing and always ready to help, and the room was clean. I could hear the air conditioner, though, as well as people coming and going from nearby rooms. As a first-time solo traveler, I was really pleased with the location, right in the center of the old town with everything easy to reach. My taxi could drive right up the street to the hotel, too. I’d stay again and recommend it to friends.

This was our first stop after arriving in Vietnam, and we’d be happy to come back. The staff were exceptionally helpful, the rooms were great, and breakfast had a good buffet with great coffee. When someone in our group couldn’t continue and we needed extra nights, arranging that was no problem.

We loved it ❤️ The rooms were a nice size with good amenities, and we had no issues. The breakfast selection was good, with great views from the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful during our four-night stay. Imperial Hotel and Spa is in Hanoi Old Quarter, close to Hoan Kiem lake and the water puppet theatre, and it’s easy to walk around the old quarter from there. A great base for exploring Hanoi.

The breakfast room had a stunning view, and breakfast was varied and tasty. Staff were wonderful, even letting me stay past breakfast time to get some work done. The front desk manager gave us lots of tips on things to see and do, and printed a document for me. We also enjoyed a relaxing massage, and the hour flew by. The room was great, with a huge bed and plenty of warm water, and we got a small gift at checkout. A few things could be improved: the TV had problems because the HDMI cable was loose, and the shower head could be screwed in a little more. We’ll come back :)
