La Sinfonia Citadel hotel and Spa

We were a group of eight in three rooms, and the staff were excellent. We arrived late to find a mix-up with the room setups and one bed missing. They quickly set up another room and got everything sorted. They also stored all our luggage while we spent a night in Halong Bay. The rooms and atmosphere are charming, with cute balconies. At night the rooms were dark and very quiet, and the air conditioning was cold. The location is fabulous: two minutes from train street, and about a 15-minute walk or a five-minute Grab ride to the old quarter. There are local restaurants, a Circle K, and an ATM within a few minutes' walk. We've stayed at several hotels around Vietnam, and the service here was great. Breakfast was good, there were good services, and there's a spa too. Highly recommend!

We slept comfortably and enjoyed the hotel's charm. The views from the top deck were amazing, and the bolognese was surprisingly delicious for Vietnam. The location is surrounded by very busy streets, though. At dinner, a staff member tried to make conversation, showed me photos and places to eat, and seemed friendly. But when we finished talking, he asked me to leave a TripAdvisor review and mention his name if I was happy with the conversation. It made the chat feel less genuine. Later, reception called twice at 11 p.m. about laundry that had been delivered by mistake, even though it wasn't in our room. We were already asleep.

The staff were so helpful, and I was pleased with the extra room decoration service I added. It's a lovely place, just a few minutes' walk from the main streets of the old quarter.

The staff were so friendly that I felt right at home, and the place was very comfortable. For my 25th birthday, they brought out a cake and sang "Happy Birthday." I wasn't expecting that, and I'll remember it. Excellent, amazing service, highly recommend.
