La Storia Ruby Hotel

I was unsure whether the place could live up to its 4.9 Google and 9.5 Booking.com ratings, but it did. The standout was breakfast, an all-you-can-eat à la carte meal served by Mai, who was attentive, friendly, and just lovely. The food was fresh, hot, and varied, a great start to the day. The staff were ready to help with anything, and the room was spotless. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure and hot water.

This is a small, personal boutique hotel, not a huge, impersonal place. It’s tucked onto a side street in the middle of the Old Quarter, close to restaurants, shops, spas, and tourist sights, and we loved staying here. Jessica, the general manager, was always cheerful and helpful with information and suggestions. She also arranged things like spa appointments, tours, and drivers. Mai, who managed breakfast, was just as friendly and attentive, making sure we had enough delicious food and explaining the local dishes.

Jessica was especially helpful arranging our airport rides for both arrival and departure. Everyone was accommodating, and the hotel itself was quiet and conveniently located in the Old Quarter. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious, and Mai often encouraged us to try items from the menu that were also included. I highly recommend staying here.

The beds were comfortable, the AC felt great, and the menu had an impressive number of choices for such an inexpensive hotel. The cooks were outstanding, and Mary explained everything so warmly that we felt at home. At times the Elani Ruby almost felt like a bed and breakfast. There’s also a good Indian restaurant nearby that stays open until 1am, while most places close at 10pm. Jessica did a great job coordinating our transportation, which made the trip much easier. The staff were all pleasant and extremely helpful. It was a special stay at this tucked-away little gem, and I truly recommend it.
