Zostay Hostel Backpackers

You get a cheap stay, but don't expect much from this hostel that calls itself a hotel. The highway right behind the house makes it very loud. Private rooms share a bathroom with the dorms, and to reach a private room you have to walk through the dorm room. We had warm water on only one of the three days. The lighting was very dim, which made it hard to judge cleanliness. Two stars for the very friendly staff and good WLAN connection.

The room was clean, but I barely slept. Two roommates snored loudly, and a rat kept returning at night and rustling around. Traffic from the nearby highway was loud too. I booked a spot in the women's dorm, but they had run out and offered me a mixed dorm instead, which I reluctantly accepted. That was a bad choice: there were no locker locks, and I hadn't known to bring my own because my previous hostel provided them. There were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or bath towels either. I wouldn't come back, and the hostel's own photos aren't trustworthy.

The location is pretty good, right by a bus stop and near the central bus station too. The 18-bed room means lots of people and not much quiet, though it does have AC. The bed, toilet, and bathroom were fine. Bring your own personal items. It was a so-so stay.

It's a good option for cheap accommodation. The dorms are very big and in good condition, though there's a slight smell from the air conditioning. The place isn't quite in the center, but it's very close to all the attractions. If you stay more than a week, you get free breakfast, water, and beer.
