The room was quirky and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the shower in the shared bathroom was wonderful. There were only two or three other rooms, so we didn't have to share with many people. The homestay is in a residential block, which makes it lovely and quiet, away from the busy town. The center is still only a 20-minute walk, so you get both. Josh deserves a big shout-out. We never met him, but he was an enthusiastic, friendly, and incredibly helpful host over WhatsApp. He suggested restaurants, helped us figure out where to go next, and compared Hanoi's air quality with the place we'd been before, including tips on avoiding the heavy pollution. We liked it so much that we booked more nights for a few weeks later. Thanks, Josh!

The family running this homestay were amazing, and they even cooked me a traditional Vietnamese dinner. It's right in the heart of the old town, and I had a super lovely stay. The rooms are a bit outdated, and there are lots of stairs, but it's really affordable if you're on a budget.

It's a quiet area, which is a welcome break from the heavy traffic. The room was comfortable and private, and the staff were super friendly. The center is about 2 km away. Buses take around 15 minutes and cost 10k. There's a shared kitchen and fridge, and they can arrange tours if you want. It's an affordable option, though cleanliness could be better, especially in the upstairs bathroom. The sink was leaking underneath. The bedroom was fine but needed a deeper clean, especially the shelves, mirrors, and walls.

The homestay is on the top, fourth floor of local apartments, and can be tricky to spot at first. It's in a large courtyard beside the shop; look toward the far end and up for the Luna homestay sign. The nearby coffee shop owners know where it is. The stairs to the hostel are wide, though the little stairway up to the second level inside is very narrow. Access is by key code, with clear instructions sent over WhatsApp. You're staying among the local Vietnamese community, with easy motorbike parking, and the old quarter is a 15-minute walk across a busy road. The rooms I had were a good size, clean, and comfortable, looking out over local homes, streets, and Vietnamese flags. I extended my stay while I was unwell, and the relatively peaceful setting helped me recover. There's a common area, a small kitchen and table, and information on local trips and excursions. Management replied quickly on WhatsApp and were very helpful. There's also a cafe at the end of the courtyard if you want a drink. I recommend it for a short stay.

They really looked after me on my last night, when I got food poisoning. The hosts let me stay in the room longer so I could rest, and even brought me food. They were so friendly throughout. I’d happily recommend this homestay to everyone. A big thank you!
