Madelise Stardust Hotel & Travel

We were moved from the hotel we’d booked to a sister branch in a back alley because of an “electrical issue.” The room wasn’t as advertised, and we could hear everything people said on the floor because it had no soundproofing. It was old and small. A really bad experience.

We were in a rush to go sightseeing, so we accepted the move, but it wasted precious time. At check-in, they said they were full and sent us to another one of their hotels, far from the town centre. They said they’d upgrade us, but the room they first gave us was tiny and had no balcony. What made it worse was seeing later arrivals get rooms at the original hotel. Very bad service.

We were really disappointed. The room seemed poorly maintained, and hygiene was a major concern. It wasn’t what we expected from the listing.

The hotel was pretty ordinary, and the location was the one good thing since it was easy to walk around. But I won’t stay there again. They split my stay between two different room types, one room for a night and another for the rest. At check-in, I was told there’d be a bank charge for paying by card, which should’ve been a warning. At checkout, the receptionist insisted I leave a review on the Agoda app right there, and couldn’t give me a receipt, saying it could only be sent by WhatsApp. After I got into the cab, they sent one with a lower amount.
