Manevi Premier Hotel

We were welcomed warmly by the young woman at reception, who offered us tea. Our Premier double room was a little larger than the others, though still somewhat small. It was modern and very clean, and the small cake and decorations were a lovely touch for our anniversary. The smart TV let us watch YouTube and Netflix. Breakfast was pretty good, with lots of choices and freshly made pho you could order. The bar and pool area is small, and the pool water was very cold. I don’t remember seeing where the gym was. All the staff were really nice, especially the young woman in the lobby who recommended a restaurant for our first night, and another staff member who suggested where to change money. Manevi is on a quieter street just around the corner from busier ones, and it’s an easy walk to beer street if that’s your thing. This was our first hotel in Hanoi, from 25/3 to 28/3. We were a little worried after reading earlier reviews, but everything was great once we arrived.

We booked for 10 people, and the staff made check-in, our stay, and checkout all smooth. The rooms were much smaller than we expected, but we only used them to sleep, so it wasn’t a big deal. They were clean and had everything we needed. The location was great. Although it’s farther from Hoan kiem lake, there’s lots of good food, coffee, bars, and shopping within an easy walk. Breakfast every morning was amazing, and we highly recommend the pho. The service was top tier even after checkout. We’d gone on to Ninh Binh when they messaged me on WhatsApp to say I’d left a personal item behind. They asked where I was staying and how I wanted it delivered, then arranged for a driver to bring it to our new destination that same day, in 5 hours, for a very small fee.

I needed a carton box for packing, so I asked the receptionist on duty to find one. When I came back later that day, she had an empty box ready for me. The staff here are warm, friendly, and really helpful. I also accidentally dropped a small wooden hand scraper on the carpet beside the left side of my twin bed, without realizing it. I only noticed it was missing after I got home to Singapore. I emailed Ms. Tracy of Manevi Premier Hotel to explain where it might have fallen and asked if she could try to retrieve it. She did, and emailed me a couple of days later to say it had been found. Then she arranged to courier it to me. That excellent service and the good location make Manevi Premier Hotel a great place to stay when visiting Hanoi. Many thanks to Ms. Tracy for all her help, and please keep up that fantastic work attitude!

I’m on my first night here, paying over €80 a night, and I’ve never stayed in such a bad hotel. It was advertised as soundproofed, but I can hear every elevator stop with a clang-clang. It’s awful, and I feel like I’m in a ridiculously overpriced hostel. I can hear the neighbors flushing the toilet too. This is absolutely unacceptable. I’ll look for another room tomorrow, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll file a complaint on other platforms as well.
