Nam Ngu Paradise Suites - Hoan Kiem lake

The unit was spacious and the location was perfect. I chose the studio after comparing the units, although the suite had an amazing view. Its bed was too hard for me, and the shower didn’t keep the water in. The rest of my stay was great, and I loved it despite a few maintenance issues. Some basic things weren’t handled: the bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut and kept opening, and they couldn’t fix it during my four-day stay. The gallery door lock was a safety concern because other people could easily get in. They fixed it on the second day. I also handed over my key for maintenance, then found it left in the door with the unit unlocked. Nothing went missing, but the staff didn’t seem very focused. The kitchen had no plates or proper cutlery, mugs, or glasses. Management needs to take better care of the units, and this would be 5/5.

We only stayed one night, and it was a very good stay despite some negative reviews. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It wasn’t very big, but there were wardrobes for our things, and check-in was quick and easy. We didn’t have a window, or it may have faced the hallway, which wasn’t ideal, but it was fine for one night. The walls are thin enough that you can hear the neighbors doing everything, even flushing the toilet, though it didn’t bother us much.

We booked a one-bedroom studio apartment for three nights, hoping for a convenient, functional stay in Hanoi. Instead, several things we were counting on didn’t work: the air conditioning, safe, and tumble dryer were all out of order, and the shower wall was falling apart. The listing said there’d be an outdoor view, but the terrace was enclosed and you couldn’t see outside. They offered a few extra bottles of water as compensation, then charged us for them at checkout. I rarely complain or leave bad reviews, but this was disappointing.

We didn’t stay in the end. There were visible marks on the bedsheet, hair on the pillow, a used condom under the bed, and the toilet was dirty. The owner tried to persuade us to stay by offering another room, but of course we declined. They were reluctant to refund us, though they eventually did. Absolutely awful. There’s plenty of accommodation at the same price with a much higher standard, or you could spend just a little more. 1/10, wouldn’t stay or recommend it to anyone.
