The beds were rock hard, the bathroom was dirty, and staff were somewhat rude. The shower is almost right above the toilet, which isn't a problem, just unusual. There were also lots of insects in the bathroom, as if an ant colony lived there, and I saw a huge cockroach crawl through my toiletries more than once. One word for the place: uncomfortable. I don't think the staff's rudeness can be explained by the language barrier alone. Other experiences have shown me you can still be polite using a translation app.

It was an okay stay, though the room was a bit dirty and cold, and the atmosphere felt a little odd. Still, it wasn't a terrible place, and they do try to accommodate you. The employee responded quickly and helped with my problem as best he could. You'll need Google Translate, so ask them for the Wi-Fi.

The room itself was in passable shape, though the bathroom door hinge seemed faulty, there was a dent in the wall, and the shower didn't seem to have hot water. The bed was painfully firm, and I slept badly until I found spare sheets in the cabinet and used them to pad it. Arriving late made the booking mix-up more stressful. The receptionist didn't speak English, and I waited a few minutes while they sorted out the app reservation, unsure whether I'd have somewhere to stay. They did eventually give me a room and resolve it. This place costs less than others nearby, but I wouldn't recommend it to international travelers. I later stayed at a pricier hotel and felt the extra cost was much more worthwhile.

We reserved a place for four through Airbnb for two nights, but when we arrived they said only one room for two people had been booked. They admitted it was their mistake, then still asked us to pay for another full room. The owner was rude, shouting at us and making no effort to help. I'd spare yourself the trouble and choose one of the many other places in Hanoi. If half a star were possible, that's what I'd give.
