Prince 2 Hotel Hanoi

The location was close to everything, and I know it was a cheap room, but you can find something much better for the same price. I didn't want to give fewer stars because the host was really nice, yet the room looked much worse than the booking pictures. We were on the sixth floor, and there was no elevator, only a spiral staircase that made me feel sick and dizzy going up and down. The place was very outdated. The dining room shown in the photos was basically a storage room, and the host was sleeping on a mattress in the lobby. The AC didn't work, and the outlets were so slow that my phone charged only 18% in five hours.

The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the Old Quarter, with a laundry, ATM, spa, and plenty more nearby. The staff were kind and approachable, especially Dat, who was helpful and always smiling. I'd give the room four stars because we were on the top, sixth floor with no elevator, which made the climb pretty tiring.

We'd requested a lower floor in our booking, but were put on the fourth and sixth floors. There's no elevator, and when we asked for help, the staff member refused. The service was poor and the staff were extremely rude. After we left, the staff member laughed at us, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. We also got the uncomfortable impression that white guests were treated more warmly and helpfully than we were. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, given the lack of basic hospitality, respect, and professionalism.

We were there for five nights and were very happy with this lovely hotel. The rooms are big, with air conditioning, a fridge, and a hot shower with great pressure. We got fresh towels and water daily. Staff were always smiling and helpful, and even though the hotel is on Beer Street, we couldn't hear the noise from outside in our room. You're right among the action, with restaurants, bars, and shops all within five minutes. There's no lift, so it may not suit anyone who struggles with stairs. One hiccup: we sent laundry out and were told it would be ready the evening before we left, but some items were still missing the next morning. Our tour guide for the next leg of the trip contacted the receptionist and got it sorted. Give yourself a few days if you're using their laundry service.
