Royal Louis Hotel

We wanted to support this brand-new hotel and had been told it would be peaceful. My husband and I were actually the first guests, and we'd hoped to leave a good review. Instead, the stay was stressful and disappointing. Before checking in, I explained to the manager that we'd left our previous hotel because of early morning drilling and construction. She said we'd made the right decision and promised it wouldn't happen here. But on our first morning, drilling above our room woke us up. The manager said it was from a neighboring building, so we gave the hotel another chance and moved to the 3rd floor. Around 6 AM the next morning, we were woken again by even louder drilling, this time right outside our door. We saw workers installing a sign with the hotel's name on the roof directly above us, so it was the hotel's own project, not a neighbor's. When confronted, the manager admitted she'd lied earlier. That was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The broken promises and noise meant my husband couldn't sleep properly and missed a full day of work, costing us over 5 million VND in income. We came here to rest, not lose sleep, peace, and money. After all that, they still tried to charge us, eventually asking only 130,000 VND for water. Given what we'd gone through, we shouldn't have been charged anything. My husband was an Airbnb Superhost for 10 years and always took responsibility when guests weren't comfortable. That's what good hospitality looks like. You don't make excuses or lie. We truly wanted to give this place a 5-star review, but I can't recommend it unless you're okay with construction waking you up, being lied to, and being ignored as a guest.
