Somerset Hoa Binh Hanoi

We were there from 12-15 Feb during Tet festival. The hotel is great and the room was excellent, with plenty of kitchen equipment and tableware, which made things very convenient. It does take about 35-40 minutes to get into the city, so it's a bit far from the main attractions. Thanks to Ms.Hannah, the Guest service supervisor, for helping us with a restaurant reservation and other things. We really appreciated her service and will definitely come back.

This was my second time staying here, and still my best hotel stay in Vietnam 🇻🇳. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the city views are epic, and the pool is there to enjoy, though it is cold. I was disappointed with breakfast. As a foreigner, I’d have liked more variety, like eggs, bacon, pancakes, mushrooms, or tomatoes. I tried it but only ate one piece of bread and one egg, as there wasn’t much to choose from. There were mostly Vietnamese dishes and no cappuccino, only black coffee. The hotel is in a new area near the airport, so getting to the old quarter can be a bit difficult. That’s where everything I wanted to see and explore in Honaoi is. Still, the hotel has amazing views from the top, and there’s a Highland Coffee and a bank right there, so essentials are convenient and available. Grab is easy to get for trips to the old quarter. 5/5 for this hotel.

I stayed in an Executive Room, 2BR, from 31 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. We were five people, and the male receptionist said the room only allowed four guests. I had no problem paying for an extra person and understand the hotel’s capacity policy. The issue was that he first asked for 1,800,000 VND and said he couldn’t provide a receipt. I refused to pay without proper documentation. After about 10 minutes of discussion, he changed the amount to around 1,400,000 VND and agreed to issue an official receipt. When I asked why the original charge was higher and why he had initially refused proof of payment, he had no proper explanation and called it his mistake. He then said there was no need to discuss it further because he had offered a lower rate. That sudden change and initial refusal raise serious concerns about improper, potentially corrupt behavior by this individual staff member. I believe it was his action, not official hotel policy. I support management being vigilant so one staff member's conduct does not harm the hotel's reputation or guest trust. I'm not seeking or accepting compensation. I’m writing to help management identify potential issues and protect transparency, integrity, the hotel’s reputation, and its guests. The room itself was spacious and generally comfortable, though the bathroom cleanliness needs work. The room quality was acceptable, but check-in was deeply disappointing because of the clear signs of unethical conduct.
