Sonata Premier Hotel & Spa

The room had a really bad toilet smell that spread everywhere, apparently because of poor ventilation. Aside from that, this was a good hotel for two-star prices. The staff were friendly and helpful, kept the room clean, and most spoke good English. Breakfast was a decent basic one, and the firm bed was comfortable. The facilities are simple but have what you need, even if some could use modernization. It’s also easy to walk to many places in the old quarter.

The location was very good, and breakfast was good enough. They also gave me free water each day, and I appreciated being allowed to check out 15 minutes late without any fuss. The women at reception and breakfast were really sweet and nice. One male worker seemed annoyed to be there and unhappy about dealing with customers. The toilet smell was awful and filled the room. I wouldn’t return, since you can get a better room in Hanoi for the same price.

The staff and cleaners were so friendly, and breakfast was great. Our room was clean, and the surrounding area was lovely. There are stairs to climb, and my window looked straight at a concrete wall, but that’s just Vietnam charm, baby ✨ I’d book here again. Some people seem to expect resort features at hostel prices, which is the only reason I can imagine they’d leave a poor review.

There was a theft incident during our stay, and the experience ruined my trip to Hanoi. The people here had a terrible attitude, and the rooms were dingy and dodgy, nothing like the pictures. Be careful about booking this place. There are plenty of better hotels in the old quarter.
