The Wooden Apartments

You get the whole apartment, and there's a washing machine, though no dryer. There is room to hang clothes on the balcony. It's not centrally located in the old quarter, but the area is still bearable if you're after a cheaper place for a group of friends or family. The cleanliness was a big no: the table was oily, the bathroom smelled, and the bedsheet was dirty. The toilet was really smelly, the floor looked old, and bits of wood were coming up. We waited at least 30 minutes to check in because no one was at the counter. The person in charge didn't answer calls or reply to WhatsApp for at least that long. This isn't a good pick if you want a pleasant and convenient stay in Hanoi, though it may be bearable for a group looking for a cheap option.

The house needs serious maintenance. The stove and microwave don't work, and the host didn't reply. The photos show the bathroom and room, including a broken shower handle that gave way when I started showering. The pictures are old, and the Airbnb reviews are fake. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

It's a stylish apartment in a convenient area, with many tourist spots nearby. The price is good for what you get, and the breakfast from nearby stalls wasn't bad. The staff were polite and the service was okay, though not omotenashi or anything. We did have a cockroach in the room, and the cleanliness wasn't at hotel level. We asked for a taxi at 3:30pm to reach the airport on time, but it didn't arrive until 4, and the staff didn't apologize or communicate much. Keep those things in mind and manage expectations. Still, we'd recommend it to other travelers for the price.

The apartment was decent, with a nice balcony and a fair location, but it was dirty and had mould in the bathroom. Quite a few things were broken too. The girls at reception weren't friendly, and the first one we encountered was pretty rude.
