The rooftop is accessible after all, and it has a lovely view over Hoan Kiem Lake. The hotel is very well located, and the rooms are nice, well maintained, and have everything you need. The staff gave me a very warm welcome during my first few days in Vietnam. They were pleasant, attentive, and full of useful advice. That was the highlight for me, and I highly recommend the place. Ella and the team made our one-night stay in Hanoi such a good one. They were warm and helpful, sorted out our local eSIM, shared sightseeing tips, and booked us a private food tour that we’d recommend. They really went the extra mile. We’d happily stay again.

The staff were easily the best part of our stay, and the location was a real plus too. Ella arranged our airport transfers and suggested a tailor before we even arrived, and the other women at reception were always smiling and full of ideas for places to visit. Ella, the woman my wife thought might be her sister, and the young man who checked us in late at night all treated us wonderfully. He even brought up extra pillows and fixed the blinds after they came off in our hands. I’d gladly hire the whole team myself. The hotel is listed as four stars on Booking.com, but to us it felt more like a two-star place that needs repairs. The rooms were clean, though the scratched and chipped surfaces made them seem less so, and we found a few tiny grey mites in one corner. It’s inexpensive, and from what we saw, a lot of places are similar. Hanoi is well worth a visit, just keep your accommodation expectations modest.
