We chose not to stay in the apartment. It was very dirty throughout: the bed, bathroom, kitchen, ceiling, walls and stained sofa, and the microwave smelled incredibly bad. Toan said they would clean what they could. They replaced the bed and microwave, but the replacements were still a little dirty. Toan also said the walls and ceiling needed repainting, but they couldn’t do that then. Communication about the cleaning and condition was a negative experience. Airbnb support helped cancel the booking and refund us without a fee. Thanks so much to them.

The apartment was small, and I wouldn’t choose it for a long stay, but it worked nicely for a weekend with my friend. We’re two women in our early twenties visiting Hanoi. The staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating, and security was friendly. The AC kept switching off, so having to turn it back on all the time was annoying. The place was clean and well furnished, with towels, very comfy pillows and a mattress I’d rate 10 out of 10. The spacious bathroom had a beautiful mirror, and there was a charming little balcony. We did have to ask for a pan and knife.

It’s still great, as always, but the rooms are looking more worn than before and could use some general maintenance.

The host called on the fourth day of my weeklong stay to say they weren’t responsible for explaining the parking fee before check-in, even though there’d been no warning and I’d asked them to arrange parking. He said I could pay for the days I’d stayed and move my car somewhere else, wherever I liked, or cancel and leave. So I checked out. This was the worst experience I’ve had in all my travels. Three months later, Agoda still hadn’t been able to contact the property to refund the unused days. Just horrible.
