Anh Sao Xanh

For the price, the room itself was very nice, clean, and modern, with a hot shower. But when we came back in the evening, they gave us a room that smelled of cigarettes, delaying check-in again. We arrived at 7:30am and had asked in advance about checking in early, but they refused unless we paid extra. The staff’s limited English made the stay harder. The location also felt poor, like we were in one of Saigon’s poorest areas. To avoid spending much on taxis, we took two buses to the center each time, which took around an hour to an hour and a half. I wouldn’t recommend it to backpackers. If you want luxury at a good price, it’ll do.

There are lots of food shops around the hotel, with chicken soup, pho, snails, and more. It’s also close to a supermarket and Dam Sen Water park. The room is compact but stylish.

Update 2022: the bed is full of bugs. Best budget hotel in tan phu, with a market just a 5-minute walk away. But it’s far from d1.

Kind staff and great service made this a really good hotel. I'd happily come back.
