I booked a nonsmoking room on agoda, but when I arrived in the evening, they said it was full and put me in a questionable room at the back of the hotel with no sunlight. It smelled strongly of cigarettes. They offered no compensation, then charged me 50k when I checked out about 15 minutes late. The service was horrendous.

District 7 is a quieter, less chaotic part of HCM than D1. There are plenty of Korean eateries, mini marts, and local items nearby. Ben Thanh is about 8km away, roughly a 20-minute Grab ride. For the price, this hotel is good value. I had ground-floor room G01, just behind reception, with no window. It was spacious and included a mini pantry/kitchenette, but it was dusty and had lots of cobwebs on the walls and ceiling at check-in. The room had been left open before I arrived, so there were many mosquitoes. Housekeeping did a good job on the following days and made up for the poor cleanliness on arrival. The mattress was hard but comfortable for me. The TV had many channels with a good signal, and the in-room wifi was good. Water pressure in the shower was strong, though the shower area wasn’t partitioned, so the basin got wet. A shelf in the shower would be useful. Na, the day receptionist, if I got her name right, was always smiling and courteous.
