CAMP Dakao | a curated accomodation

Viet was easy to reach and checked in on me regularly, even though I didn’t get to meet him. His local food tips were useful, and it was handy to have places for drinks and dinner without a long trek. The accommodation is lovely if you want somewhere fairly central without the busy feel of the city’s heart. I also loved having a bathtub right in the room.

The rooftop terrace made it easy to do laundry, and Viet let me leave clothes hanging to dry after checkout. He also made sure our motorbikes were safe and parked properly. I only booked one night and wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll book again next time I’m in Saigon :) The rooms and shared spaces were clean and thoughtfully decorated. We stayed in a room styled after Wong Kar Wai films, and the place Viet I has made feels full of soul. He greeted us warmly and was lovely to chat with whenever I ran into him in the building.

Camp Dakao felt like a comfortable home base in HCM. It’s central but quiet, with lots of cafes and good food close by. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the host was warm, responsive, and genuinely helpful. I really enjoyed the stay and would happily come back.

The owner is an artist, and his recommendations were original and spot-on. Thanks to him, I had such a good time in Ho Chi Minh City, and this place made the trip unforgettable. Every room has its own theme and gorgeous art, with tasteful decor that makes the whole house feel cozy. The location is great too, close to attractions and surrounded by amazing cafes and restaurants. The food is to die for!
