Capsule Riverside Saigon

The location was fine, but the stay didn't live up to the listing. I paid extra for the large or double bed I had booked, then arrived to find I’d been given a single bunk. When I showed the booking confirmation, the staff member laughed and insisted I’d booked a single. That felt dismissive, especially after a long trip. The assigned bed was visibly dirty, too, which was very disappointing. Agoda wasn't helpful when I contacted them. They kept saying I had booked a double, but didn't seem to grasp that the property hadn't given me one. The property should make its listings clearer and improve its service and cleanliness.

The capsules are good, and I liked the roomy sleeping area and high ceiling. Service deserves five stars because the staff really helped with my luggage, though an elevator would have made that help unnecessary. The upper rooms are reached by a steep outdoor staircase, so bear that in mind if you're carrying bags. The daily water they hand out is very small, and one guest smoked in his capsule, leaving the whole room smelling. Cleanliness could improve too: a wipe I used on a downstairs table turned dark grey quickly. Since it's also a cafe and restaurant, it was frustrating that motorcycles almost completely blocked the entrance. I’d still stay again.

I felt safe here, and the staff were nice. They gave me water and clean towels every day, and when my shopping outgrew the big locker, a staff member let me use another one. The coffee shop is great, too. You can walk to the walking street in about 10 minutes, and the CC store next door is open 24 hours. There’s plenty of food around. I really enjoyed staying here.

The sleeping boxes are tucked at the back, so you don't hear the main road traffic. Mine seemed a bit bigger than other boxes I've tried, with a few more accessories. The coffee shop on site is open during the day and gets busy, with lots of people coming to talk. I hope they sort out the ground-floor toilet soon. The man at reception seemed good, and I can see myself staying here again if I need to.
