Cochin Sang Hotel

Breakfast was amazing, with lots of delicious choices, and the complimentary mini bar made the stay especially good value. The staff were helpful and accommodating the whole time. Cochin Sang Hotel is right next to Ben Thanh Market, with many attractions an easy walk away. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Highly recommend it for a visit to Saigon.

At checkout, we were asked to hand back the laundry bag and even the room slippers. Those small items usually feel like basic hotel hospitality, so being asked for them felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The experience left a poor impression. Hotel Cochin in Ho Chi Minh City needs to pay more attention to guest comfort and customer service.

The twin room was really cramped, with nowhere to put my luggage. The air-conditioning was freezing and its thermostat didn’t work, while thin walls let conversations from the next room and lift lobby carry through. The location is very handy, though. Many food options are within a 10-minute walk, and attractions like New playground shopping street and Ben Thanh market are about 5 to 15 minutes away on foot.

The buffet breakfast was decent, and the staff serving it were very nice. The location is hard to beat, though the downside is all the touts outside as soon as you step out. At first the hotel seemed clean and family-friendly, but the walls are so thin you can hear neighbours having fun with their “guests” for the night. I knew sex workers might be around the area, but being woken by this twice in three nights, from different rooms, was not what I expected. Also, lose the one room key they give you and they charge 200k VND.
