Golden Central Hotel Saigon

I wouldn’t recommend it. This definitely doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. There was a bad smell in the corridor as we came out of the lift. The rooms were dim, with outdated furniture, old towels, and worn bed linen. The tables had plastic cloths. Breakfast was very ordinary, with limited hot food. The service was rude: we asked twice for a glass for juice because none were available, and the response was unpleasant. This was the worst breakfast and service we had anywhere in Vietnam.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, even arranging taxis for us at set rates. The location was convenient for the main sights, just a two-minute walk to the War Museum and 15 minutes on foot to the posh part of town. The rooms are small but comfortable. The bedsheet wasn’t very clean, though everything else was good. This was the first hotel we stayed in in Vietnam with a proper shower and hot water that didn’t run out. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room was wonderfully quiet and the bed very comfortable. Staff were lovely, pleasant, and ready to listen and help. When my mom called reception to ask for an iron, they brought one to us five minutes later with a friendly smile. The buffet also had lots of choices and was great. The hotel has beautiful views and nice pools, and it’s perfectly placed across the street from The Street Food Market and Ben Thanh Market. I had a wonderful stay at Golden Central Hotel and would definitely come back soon. I’d highly recommend it. :) ✌🏻

The restaurant staff were very nice, and breakfast was fair to good. But during my stay, the pool bar, cafe, and restaurant never opened. The kettle missing from my room also wasn’t replaced, even after I asked. This feels like a low-end three-star hotel posing as four stars. It may have been really nice 10 or 20 years ago, but now it’s clearly dated and worn out.
