For our first stay in Vietnam, we couldn't have asked for a better start. Elizabeth helped us sketch out a plan for the whole month and figure out transport between cities. Her local suggestions were great, and we loved them. She also booked a sleeper bus to our next hostel in Dalat, which saved us some money. The hostel is right in the middle of Saigon's action, but it was a good place to catch up on rest after a long travel day. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the staff were unbelievably friendly.

As a woman traveling solo, I had a really good three-night stay at City backpackers hostel. I had a private room with its own bathroom and was very comfortable. The place was clean and always had staff around. The location is perfect, and Elizabeth at the front desk was incredibly helpful. I'd highly recommend staying here.

James was awesome and helped us plan our whole trip. Then, after 12GO cancelled our tickets, the woman working there, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, managed to get us a bus ticket to Dalat with less than 24 hours' notice. The people were so friendly and lovely, and made us feel at home in a chaotic city. This is seriously the best hostel and hostel staff I've experienced on our trip!

The location is right in the centre, and the dorms were quiet and clean, with really comfortable beds. I only wish the shower got a bit hotter. There isn't really a common room, so I didn't meet many other travelers, but I still had a lovely three-night stay at City Backpackers. The staff were very friendly and gave us a useful overview of things to do and the tours they offer. We took the Delta Tour, which was good, though booking the transport online turned out cheaper than booking through them, so I arranged it myself.

A quiet place to get some rest, with roomy bedrooms, clean and comfortable beds, and a very large bathroom in the dorm area. The hostel is close to downtown and the walking street, too. Elisabeth at reception was kind and helpful, and her English was better than the Queen of England used to speak 😉
