Hanting Hotel Ho Chi Minh City Downtown (汉庭国际胡志明市中心酒店)

I loved the view of Ho Chi Minh City at night. The hotel is on a high floor, in a nice setting, and very clean, with daily room cleaning and free bar tickets. The pool was clean and open until 8:00 pm, and breakfast had a fantastic range of choices. The staff were friendly and helpful. I noticed the Chinese hotel manager working hard every morning to manage the restaurant staff. Thank you, Huazhu Hotel Teams.

The helpful staff were let down by very poor or nonexistent English. The Wi-Fi was decent, and the breakfast buffet was fine, though repetitive if you stay for a week or longer. The small pool was nice, but there were only four loungers, and they were so uncomfortable I could feel the metal bars through them. The location was good, with plenty of great restaurants nearby and the busy center not far away. The restaurant was overpriced, with a poor selection, and uncomfortably windy. I wouldn't recommend it. MOC across the street was much better and more affordable. The alley to the hotel was cluttered with construction materials, and I had to watch out for dog mess. There were several sources of noise. The hotel was being renovated, with drilling from early morning until late at night. Construction outside went on 24/7, and water flushing from the upper floors was so loud it felt like it might pour down on me. The manager of the restaurant also frequently complained about staff in front of guests, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. And everything had to be paid for immediately in cash. There was no way to charge drinks, food, or laundry to the room.

The staff were good and refunded me, but I was very disappointed. The rooms looked nothing like the online pictures, and as an international hotel name, I expected better. The place looked like a child had built it, with a crooked mirror, holes and stains in the walls, and several strands of hair on the shower floor. I didn't stay the night.

The rooms were new and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There's breakfast, a laundry room, and other thoughtful services. Even in the city center, the hotel sits in a small alley, so nights are peaceful with no street noise. Everything is within walking distance. A wonderful stay!
