The rooms are cheap. I’d pick one without windows, though, since traffic noise gets in. You can pay for a massage here, and the rates are low. The massage was good for sorting out my back, even though the person giving it was quite old.

It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. The place was a bit grimy, and the bed had a pretty weird smell. For a first visit to Saigon, it doesn’t make a good impression.

We left and found a hotel next door that was cleaner, brighter, and cheaper. This place was a waste of money, with poor facilities and terrible service. I don’t mind old hotels and actually like a retro feel, but this one was cramped and dirty. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke, the walls were damp, and there was hair, water stains, and cigarette ash on the floor when we checked in. We pointed it out to the cleaning staff we ran into, but when we asked them to clean again, they cursed at us and said, "That's how it is here. If you want cleanliness, go stay in a five-star hotel!" That attitude was enough for us to leave.
