Nhat Ha Lavish Hotel

The hotel had a strange vibe, and there are better places around here for the price. At breakfast, I accidentally knocked over a glass holding the serviettes while moving it out of my way, and it broke. Later, I got a call in my room saying I had to pay 120,000 for it. I've never been charged for an accident like that, especially while eating in the restaurant, and 120,000 seemed far more than the glass was worth. I won't stay here again.

The room was spacious and clean, with hot showers and Japanese-style toilets. A few rooms have no windows, so that could feel a bit disorienting. The concierge greeted us warmly, and security staff were always there to help open the doors.

The shower was uncomfortable to use: it swung suddenly between very hot and cold, and hot water lasted only a few minutes before turning cold. But the bigger problem was cash missing from my bag in the room. I reported it to management and found their response dismissive and unprofessional. They said they had asked the housekeepers, who denied taking anything, and then told me guests were responsible for their belongings. There was no proper investigation, accountability, or real effort to reassure me. I also read multiple accounts of money going missing from guest rooms, with people describing the same response from management. Based on those reports, it seems this may have happened before, though I can't confirm those incidents myself. The hotel needs to take the concern seriously. These problems left me feeling unsafe and unsupported throughout my stay. This wasn't the level of security or service I expected, and I hope management improves its procedures and how it handles guest concerns.

The stay was decent in most ways, with a nice breakfast, gym, and location, but I'd be wary about leaving belongings in the room. A whole shopping bag disappeared. I had several bags there, but only the one with higher-end Vietnamese brand clothes was gone, not just one item. I can't understand how anyone thought I wouldn't notice. I believe the housekeeper took it. It took around three days to resolve. Staff weren't helpful: they didn't check CCTV, never gave updates unless I asked, and kept asking if I'd misplaced the bag. Only after I said I'd report it to the police for my insurance claim did they hurry things along. At first they asked to compensate only 50%, saying the attendant who took it was “poor” and should be “supported.” That seemed ridiculous. In the end, they paid me 100% in cash, which was a relief. The case was handled unprofessionally, and the departments didn't communicate. The water also switched quickly between very hot and cold, which was annoying but tolerable. If you're very particular about locking away valuables each day, keep that in mind.
