The room turned out to be old and unlike the photos, which was a letdown after seeing the pictures on Google. I was also asked to pay upfront, and the night receptionist wasn’t very welcoming or clear about the different prices. The hot water was weak at night, there were no instructions, and the room phone didn’t work for calling reception. I’d hoped to find a hotel in Go Vap in good condition, but this two-star place disappointed me. I won’t stay here again.

Breakfast had a good range of choices, and the staff were courteous and helpful. When I asked for a hot water lot in my room, they brought one over quickly. The Phu An is a good-value place to stay, especially for the price.

There are plenty of restaurants in the area, and the price seems reasonable for a two-star place. Breakfast is good, and the customer service is acceptable, though nobody speaks English. The rooms aren’t soundproof, so I felt I had less privacy, even under the blankets.

It’s a pretty decent hotel, though planes passing overhead can make it quite noisy since it’s close to the airport.

I didn’t feel safe about the elevators or the staircase if there were a fire. The fire system doesn’t seem good.
