Sen Viet Hotel

The included breakfast has plenty of variety and was good. The hotel is set back from the street, so the rooms are really quiet. It’s easy to walk to local food spots and open markets, and central attractions are simple to reach by taxi, Grab, or the very cheap city buses. Getting on the bus is easy, an agent sells tickets and tells you where to get off.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the breakfast buffet was included with the basic options. The equipment in the room is a little dated, but it still works as expected. There’s no gym, pool, or business room for making copies, so this is a very bare-bones place. I’d put it down as a last resort, since there are better options in District 1 at the same price. I’d rate it 3.5.

We tried two room setups at Sen Viet Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, a triple room with a shower and a king room with a bathtub. They were about the same size, with the beds being the main difference. The location is convenient, and the staff are friendly. The shower drain was an issue, leaving water on the bathroom floor after use, so it needed extra attention. Some of the facilities also seem a bit old and could use better upkeep. Sorting those things out would improve the stay.

We stayed two nights, 11-13nov2024, as a group of 12 friends and had a wonderful time. We were assigned six comfortable triple rooms on level 5, with all the hotel amenities, and the Wi-Fi was good. There was a wide choice at the buffet breakfast. The front desk was very helpful when one of our bags had been damaged by the airline. On the evening of 12nov2024, the power went out twice on level 5, but housekeeping came quickly to fix the problem.
