Silk Hong Ha Airport Hotel

Handy for a flight connection. I arrived from Hanoi at 12am, had another flight the next morning, and stayed one night. The room was huge, and the room, linen, and towels were clean. Mine faced a busy road, so if you’re noise sensitive like me, bring earplugs. They can arrange airport pickup and drop-off with their own employee for 100k each way. Let them know in advance and call when you’re at B12 parking spot. The staff were responsive from day one, thank you. The coffee shop downstairs doesn't take cards if you want coffee or breakfast.

It’s a busy hotel in a busy part of HCMC near the airport, but inside it was very quiet. Other guests seemed considerate, so we had no noisy nights and slept well. The reception staff working during our stay were friendly and helpful. You can arrange airport pickup or drop-off here, and it’s close enough to walk if you’re not carrying too much luggage. We enjoyed the restaurant on our first night, especially the tasty beef stew and ice-cold Mango yoghurt. The rooms at Silk Hong Ha were clean and comfortable. My only gripes: there should be a shower curtain or glass panel to keep water in the bath, since the bathroom door is being damaged by water. Also, the room fridge switches off when you leave, a common problem in older hotels in Vietnam, so drinks aren’t very cold when you get back.

The room was clean and pretty standard, just what you'd expect. The service was the problem. After two weeks of friendly, helpful staff at other hotels, it was a letdown to find nobody offering to carry our heavy bags up the stairs outside. At the desk, they seemed more focused on settling the bill than anything else. It's only ten minutes from the airport, but I won't stay here again.

The room had a nice vintage look with some modern touches, and the staff were amazing. It's close to the airport, and Ho Chi Minh City is still easy to get around from here. Had a great stay.
