Sunshine Airport Hotel

We used this place for our first night in Vietnam after arriving around 2 in the morning, then came back for our last night before leaving. For the price, it was a great option. If you only have backpacks, the airport is about a 10-minute walk away. The road isn’t pleasant, but it felt safe. There are two supermarkets open 24 hours and a pharmacy right in front, with lots of cafes and coffee shops nearby. One thing to know: the elevator makes a “ding” every time it reaches a floor, so ask for a room away from it.

We barely slept, maybe 45 minutes, and even our child couldn’t rest properly. Staying here was a nightmare, even for one night, and I’d avoid it if you care about hygiene, comfort, or feeling secure, especially with kids. The room was filthy, with a used cigarette under the bed. The bed was hard and smelly, and seemed like it hadn’t been changed after the previous guest. The balcony door had no lock, which left us feeling unsafe all night. We asked for another pillow and were told none were available because they only provide enough for the number of guests booked. They say the hotel was newly built in 2025, but the interiors, furniture, and bathroom looked outdated and poorly maintained.

The room was clean and spacious, and the price was reasonable compared with nearby hotels. Service was good, and I felt safe and comfortable. It’s not perfect, but it’s suitable for the price, and getting to the airport takes about 10 minutes when there’s no traffic.

This was a big disappointment and felt completely overrated. The staff were nice, it was clean, and the airport location was convenient, with lots of restaurants and cafes around. But the room itself was very basic and worn out, and the mattress was hard as a brick. I was on the first floor near the elevator and kept waking up to its “bing bing” sounds. I could also hear everything from the lobby downstairs. I hardly slept and felt awful the next morning. Even for a budget hotel, it didn’t meet what I expected.
