The location worked really well, with a vinmart about 20 seconds from the door and a couple of great food stalls less than a minute away. There were also two very cute puppies living just outside. We stayed four nights in a clean, comfortable room with a double bed, private bathroom and small balcony. The balcony wasn’t much of one and had no view. The AC was great, and there was a mini fridge and fan. Breakfast was a nice extra, with several good choices, including Western food and Vietnamese Bánh mì, plus a drink. The drinks could be inconsistent, though: one day my boyfriend ordered milk coffee and got half a cup of milk, which was weird. The front desk staff were very friendly and as helpful as they could be, though some didn’t speak much English. The blackout curtains didn’t cover several windows, so the room got very bright during the day. A coq in a nearby house also crowed from early morning until evening. We were out early and back late, so the noise wasn’t an issue for us, but this may not suit you if you need darkness and quiet. Free laundry was offered, but the machine was broken while we were there. They offered to send it out for free, though not all staff knew about that option, so asking later caused some confusion.

The ground-floor apartment had a kitchen with a fridge and microwave, plus a bedroom with a wardrobe, linens and hair dryer. The place was clean, private and comfortable, and I stayed for two good nights. The hosts were amazing: friendly, professional and responsible. Wi-Fi was good, and water and help were available even in the middle of the night. You get a passcode for the entry door, so you don’t need anyone there to let you in. The location was good too. Head left when you leave and keep walking to reach Saigon’s walk pub street and plenty of restaurants.

The reception staff were nice, so they get two stars. The bathroom was dirty, especially the unidentifiable stains left on the toilet by previous guests. The cleaning staff really need replacing. The modern furnishings were beautiful, which makes it a pity. The breakfast was the worst of my 21-day trip. It didn’t meet European standards.

For the city, I guess it’s very good value. But I didn’t sleep well because there were window-like openings in the room door and wall with no curtains, and they couldn’t be opened. When people came back late, they turned on the light and left it on. Breakfast wasn’t great either. Staff seemed confused about the timing and orders, and communication between the evening and morning shifts wasn’t good. We only got it right one day out of three.

It’s clean, the rooms are big, and the employees are quite helpful. Most can speak English. You can walk to all the sightseeing spots from here in 1-2 days.
