I didn’t sleep well for any of my three nights, even with earplugs. The music from this famous Ho Chi Minh City nightlife street was deafening, like an earthquake, and went on until 5 or 6 a.m., sometimes 6 or 7 or later. My room had no windows, which I first found disappointing, but I later figured that probably cut the noise by at least 50%. The crowds and music outside were intense. The reception is across the street from the hotel building, and there’s a seafood restaurant on the ground floor. I like historic buildings, and this one clearly has character. There may even be office spaces beside the guest rooms. During the day I saw about seven or eight Vietnamese staff working on computers in one room. Since I’d already booked a tour, I didn’t move hotels. There was something pretty cool about stepping in from the hot, chaotic street to a cool, windowless room with historic character on the restaurant’s second floor. The bedding was clean, the service average, and the front desk often unattended. I never found out the Wi-Fi password before checking out.
The beds are really comfortable, and the hotel staff provided great service. Breakfast was included, which was a nice extra. The restaurant across the road, part of the same hotel group, is amazing too. It’s on walking street in an amazing location, though it’s loud until the early hours, so bring earplugs. That noise is outside the hotel’s control. For the price, I can’t complain about the rooms. I’ll stay here again when I come back to HCMC.
The location made it easy to get around, and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout my stay. My room was cozy and very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I truly enjoyed the visit. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
I booked 5D4N and arrived exhausted at 8am after a 9-hour flight. The receptionist agreed to an early check-in, but by 2:15pm the room was still being cleaned and no receptionist was anywhere to be found. Very inconsiderate. They only dealt with it at 3pm after I reported them to Agoda. The whole thing was frustrating, so I cancelled the booking, and it completely disrupted my plans for the day. Overrated hotel.
Right in the heart of Bui Vien Street, this place was very cheap at 20 SGD per night and included a decent breakfast, one meal with a drink and dessert. There were Western, Indian, vegetarian, and Vietnamese options. The room was small, but very clean, and the housekeeping ladies did their jobs perfectly. Staff were polite and friendly. I didn’t mind the staircase. Ms. Trang at the check-in desk is doing her job very well and deserves a pay raise.
