Thanh Binh Premium Hotel

I’ll stay again. In this part of Saigon, a lot of the hotels are bad. I booked one and couldn’t even spend the night there, then found this place around the corner. Thanh Binh costs a little more, but I thought it was worth it. In 2025 the rooms were like new, tasteful and beautiful, with air conditioning that worked. In Saigon, I’d say getting working AC is a 50/50 chance at best. The bathrooms were lovely and the beds solid and comfortable. The manager speaks English and will take care of everything. It’s on a quiet back street, about a 5-minute walk from the modern, Western-style Celadon Mall, with lots of street food and authentic Vietnamese shopping options too. The area is being rebuilt with modern developments, so you get both kinds of surroundings. It’s a long way from central Saigon, though, and not far from the airport. Hotels around here are used by people meeting for casual relationships. You could bring your family here if you wanted, though. It’s very discreet, unlike some others.

We spent 11 days here with my wife and daughter, basically living in newly renovated rooms at a very decent price. Our room had two double beds, a bath tub and an android tv, but unfortunately no fridge. The daytime receptionist speaks excellent English. There’s a large mall within walking distance with a variety of food options. I wish they’d added things useful for travelers and families, like hair-dryers, dressing tables, kettles and a microwave oven.

It wasn’t one of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in. Still, I was struck by how hard the staff worked to accommodate us. I was probably a pain, but they were happy to help.
