The owner’s account has since been suspended from VRBO and Expedia, but I’m still out 1300 dollars because of what I see as their lack of ethics. The place was filthy and awful, nothing like the online photos. Half the room flooded from the washing machine, and water seeped through the floorboards when we walked. There was black mold everywhere underneath. The tub had been put into a walk-in shower and rocked back and forth when someone was inside. It was so high and unstable that we had to lift our elderly guests into it. I reported a health and safety concern to customer service. The host stopped responding and refused to refund the nights we wouldn’t be staying, so I left and found a safer hotel for my family. Both customer service and hotel staff were extremely unhelpful. I spent seven hours on the phone with VRBO and Expedia trying to get my money back. The photos were extremely misleading, and I was appalled by the lack of maintenance. After refusing a refund, they told cleaners to come clean the room because the booking had been cancelled. If they’re thinking of double-booking it and keeping my money, that will become a bigger issue. Then they refused any refund and blamed me for breaking the washing machine. This company has been a complete waste of time, with the most unethical business practices I’ve ever seen.

We booked a two-bedroom apartment for one night and wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer. The online photos are misleading: the complex felt old, damp, and poorly maintained, and the bedrooms were disappointingly small. The deep bathtub was slippery and hard to get in and out of, which felt unsafe. Check-in was frustrating because reception and the landlord seemed not to be communicating. The reception team did little to help sort it out, which made things worse. The location isn’t central to major attractions, apart from being across the road from Vietnam’s Japanese nightlife district. I wouldn’t see it as a good choice for families with underage children.

The room was very old for the high price, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The receptionist said it was old because I hadn’t specified on the website that I wanted a new room. Well done 👍

My first stay was okay, but on the second visit the room smelled awful, like rotten water. The photos showed a bathtub, but there wasn’t one. A truly terrible, shabby, and fraudulent country. .
