Victory Airport Hotel

There are plenty of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants around here, and Terminal 2 is under 10 minutes away. The staff were kind and the hotel was clean, but room 003 on the ground floor smelled strongly of cigarettes all night. I could hear snoring and someone dragging chairs, so I barely slept. I was told the hotel was fully booked, though I think a higher-floor room might have been better.

The room and bathroom were clean, and there was no smell. The bathroom is quite small, its mat looks old, and the glass shelf for shampoo and shower gel was broken and should be replaced for safety. The room had a hair dryer, kettle, Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, hot shower, toiletries, fridge and slippers, plus two complimentary bottles of water. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Reception was spacious, and the receptionist was efficient and courteous when I checked in around noon and checked out about 11:30 am. Cafes and restaurants are plentiful nearby, and the area felt safe. The airport is close, less than a 10-minute walk to domestic Terminal T2. My main annoyance was the noise: the doors and walls are thin, so sounds from the corridor carry into rooms. In room 205 I could clearly hear a staff member walking up and down the stairs with heavy steps at night and in the morning.

No room service, but in Ho Chi Minh you can just head out and explore. Victory is close to the airport, easy for Grab pickup and drop-off, and has great beds, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. This is where I’ll stay whenever I’m in Ho Chi Minh. (American who lives in Vietnam)

For an overnight stop before a morning flight, the price felt well worth it. The staff, from the front desk to the security guard outside, were really nice and helpful. Although the hotel is near the airport, it was surprisingly quiet. The room was reasonably clean, though the toilet door wouldn’t latch, so I wedged a chair against it. It’s walkable from the airport, but at night I’d take Grab. In Ho Chi Minh City the fare was only 56,000 VND, about 2.2 USD, which is incredibly cheap compared with Thailand.
