I felt unsafe and disrespected during my stay at The MarQ in District 1, and it completely ruined the trip. After we’d already paid on Airbnb for a short stay, the host, Trang, sent her property manager to our door at 1:00 a.m. They woke us and demanded that we leave immediately unless we paid an extra $250 per night on the spot. That fee hadn’t been disclosed beforehand, so the late-night demand felt intimidating and completely unprofessional. This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. I would never book with this host again. If you want honest communication, reliability, and basic respect for guests, avoid this listing and host. There are plenty of other options in District 1.

We booked with Genuis MarQ in district 1, but when we arrived there was no host to contact, and other guests were in the same situation. After waiting many hours, I finally reached the host, who did a bait-and-switch and moved us to a near by hotel. It was not close to what we expected. The facility they sent us to was moldy and dirty, gave me a rash, and made me sick. Caution for Scam.

At MarQ in Ho Chi Minh, we weren’t given the correct room when we arrived. We didn’t stay there, but they still kept our full deposit and the booking fee. The service was horrible and the staff very unfriendly. They tried calling the landlord over 10 times, but she never answered. She delayed the process and kept both our deposit and original hotel fee. Avoid this place at all costs.
