The internet and YouTube streaming kept breaking down, and the place felt poorly managed and maintained. We had consecutive bookings through Agoda and asked to extend at the Agoda rate, but their so-called “super special for us” was 38% higher. We’d booked a hotel room but were put in an adjacent apartment building. The complimentary welcome drinks never arrived, and late checkout wasn’t allowed. At checkout, staff rushed to our room to see if we’d taken towels or slippers.

The rooms at Yen Living are spacious and bright compared with many serviced apartments nearby, and it’s quiet and very close to the city center. The staff are a real plus: friendly and helpful, always smiling and greeting us at reception, and attentive to what we need. When we checked out in a rush, we left behind a phone charger and boxes of fresh chocolate we’d bought in Japan. The staff got them to the delivery man, which we really appreciated. My family stays here whenever we return to HCMC. The toilet facilities aren’t as new as they were in 2022, but we’re happy to come back. Highly recommended if you’re after a spacious, quiet room and friendly service.

The rooftop pool in the new block was the best part, with a great skyline view and prominent buildings visible. It’s a nice place to relax and take photos. We found the location convenient, especially since we rented a motorbike. The apartment had a clean Korean/Japanese-inspired look, warm lighting, and thoughtful design. It was well equipped, with AC and a TV in both the bedroom and living area, though there was no ceiling fan. The bathroom was spacious and had a large bathtub. Staff were courteous and helpful. Early check-in isn’t available, but there’s a large indoor and outdoor waiting area where you can sit, charge devices, read, take photos, or leave your luggage while you explore. Stylish and well maintained, with the essentials and a great rooftop view.

The staff were kind, friendly, and attentive, easily a 10 out of 10 for service. The room was bright and roomy, with a little kitchen, stove, and basic cookware. The hot water worked well enough to fill the bathtub. It’s not a brand-new place, but it’s maintained well and good value. The location is handy, about 10 minutes by car or motorbike from District 1, Sala complex, or Landmark 81.
