I stayed in a 10-person shared room and slept very well. The bed was extremely comfortable, with a great mattress, two good pillows, and a warm blanket. There were five roomy bunk beds, 24-hour A/C, natural light from a window, and a dark curtain for each bed. The room and bathroom were clean, and self check-in was easy. There was a mini fridge and enough room by the lockers and bathroom, plus a big gap beside the bed where I could leave my 50L backpack off the floor. There are two cameras in the shared room. A nearby club was barely audible, so it didn't disturb my sleep. The bathroom is inside the room, with a separate shower, toilet, and sink. Shampoo, body wash, hand soap, and two excellent-quality towels were provided. There's a small rooftop with a couple of tables and a tiny pool. A coffee shop is available, but you pay for the booking there. The locker is small for personal belongings and uses a three-number code. Other people can see the code while it's open, and cleaning staff know it too. There's no bed light. The bathroom area was sometimes left full of trash when cleaning was skipped, so it should be cleaned at least once a day. A light above the sink, bed lights, and a rack or hangers by each bed would help. The toilet trash can is too small and fills quickly. The location was convenient: Nguyễn Huệ is 600 m away, about 9 minutes on foot; Ben Thanh market is 700 m, or 12 minutes; the water bus is 1.1 km, around 15 minutes; and Bui Viện walking street is 1.3 km, about 17 minutes. The room looked just like the photos and was clean and well kept, but the problems made this a very unpleasant stay. We arrived to find no staff or proper check-in desk and stood outside with our suitcase for about 40 minutes before reaching someone through WhatsApp. No check-in instructions had been sent by SMS beforehand. A list on the desk showed charges for damaged or missing items, so we checked the room and noticed the projector remote was missing. We told staff on WhatsApp right away because we couldn't use the projector and didn't want to be held responsible for a charge. Their reply came late, so we went on with our day. When we returned hot and tired to room 5B, neither the bathtub shower nor the standing shower worked. Staff said they couldn't do anything until the next day, and there was no other room to move to. We were frustrated by that response, since working showers are a basic amenity. We asked to be moved to another property or room, or to get the password for the dorms on level 1 so we could shower. They gave us access to the dorms and said someone would come the next day to inspect the problem. A man checked the shower in the morning and got it working, but the same problem returned that night. We stopped asking and used the level 1 shower for the rest of our stay. After four days and three nights, we found there was no water for showering during the morning rush, 10-12pm, or the night rush, 10:30-12am. I don't know if this affected only our room. The property is near several nightclubs, so I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers. Even at a low price, I expected the basic amenities to work. This was one of the worst experiences I've had.
I couldn't bring myself to spend even one night here and booked another hotel that same evening because I was concerned about health and safety. Right after check-in, I saw lots of bugs, visible mold on the bed frame and in the shower, and stains on the bed board and shower walls. There was dust and hair in the cupboards, the sheets and pillowcases clearly hadn't been changed, and the couch had noticeable stains too. The room felt unhygienic and unsafe. I asked to cancel and get a refund, explaining what I'd found, but they refused. There was also very loud music from a nearby bar around midnight. That wasn't directly the property's fault, but it's not a good place if you want a quiet night's sleep. The photos attached to my review were all taken just after check-in, before I used the room, and show its condition on arrival. This was extremely disappointing. The place wasn't worth even its cheap price, and I'd suggest spending a little more or continuing your search. If cleanliness, hygiene, and guest safety matter to you, I strongly advise avoiding it.
The location worked well, with most tourist spots about a 20-minute walk away. The rooms are large and fairly clean, and the free Wi-Fi is good. There are helpful staff at the cafe downstairs, which also has good coffee, though there's no physical hotel staff. Check-in was difficult, but checking out was easy. A couple of clubs nearby can make nights a bit loud, and the pool is tiny. You get one free room cleaning, then additional cleaning costs 150k dong.
The location is a real plus, close to many of the best spots in HCMC. Wi-Fi was probably among the fastest I've found, and the projector had good picture quality. There are also plenty of banks and ATMs nearby. Use EXIM to avoid ATM fees. The property could be cleaner, and the basin had some stains and drained very slowly, as if it were clogged. Laundry is handled by a third party, probably outside the building, and it wasn't ready on time. That only becomes a problem if you're meant to collect it on the same day you're leaving.
