Ngoc Anh Hotel 1 Ninh Binh

Breakfast was included and the best I’ve had so far, with eggs made however you like and really good pancakes. The manager/owner spoke good English and was attentive and helpful. The location’s great if you’d rather not stay in touristy Tam Coc. I stayed two nights. The room was spacious and very clean, with AC and a fan, and the bed was so comfortable that I slept really well. They also left complimentary water, tea, and coffee in the room. I’d highly recommend it.

The banana pancake at breakfast is delicious, definitely try it. The staff were lovely, gave us tips on what to see when we arrived, and arranged a free taxi back to the Train Station. It was nice and clean for a very reasonable price. The soundproofing depends on the room. Our first room was large and faced the street, but the windows wouldn’t close properly. The smaller room we got the second night felt much cosier and kept out a lot more noise. We were very pleased with our stay.

We returned to Ninh Binh before our train after spending two more days at a homestay. Another hostel, GO Ninh Binh Hostel, smelled so bad that we came back here. The owner was closing up, but still welcomed us late, let us go back out to find food, and woke up at 1 am to let us in again. Everyone here was so welcoming and gracious to us foreigners, when we really needed that. We love this place and would strongly recommend it to backpackers and tourists. Their daughter is SO cute. We’d arrived in #ninhbinh really late and found that all the hostels seemed full. This place had one room left. The owner was polite and friendly, showed it to us, and made sure we liked it before we agreed to stay. It was very clean, smelled good, and had no bugs. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The thin walls were my one complaint. People coming and going late at night talked loudly in the hallways. That was more down to the guests, though. You’d think not shouting to your friends after 11 PM would be common sense in a hotel. After a miserable night in Tam Coc, I decided to move to the city center. I got to Ngoc Anh hours before check-in just to leave my luggage, but they let me into my room early. Breakfast was included, ordered à la carte rather than from a buffet, and the banana pancakes were delicious. Everyone I dealt with at both hotels, including the one a few doors down where breakfast was served, was friendly and helpful.
