Fusion Point Hotel

Terrible service from start to finish. We asked before booking whether there was car parking, and they assured us there was. When we got there, they left us to find street parking ourselves. We had a lot of luggage and nobody offered to help. When we asked, the staff just stared at us. One person in our group has dual citizenship. Other places accepted a picture of their Vietnamese passport, but this hotel wouldn't. They also rejected the foreign passport picture and asked for details like an address and the physical passport. We've never had this happen at another hotel, and it's not required by law. They wouldn't let us stay, and when we asked for our deposit back, they said they hadn't received it yet and that it would take 3-5 days. That's a lie. We transferred the money to a personal account, so it should have arrived immediately, not gone through a company account. Do not come here.

The location was great and the staff were super helpful. They even helped us plug the fridge back in and switch the water heater on. A quick walk to the end of the street takes you to a street full of bats and restaurants. On our last day we also got a nice walk in along both sides of the river. The pho across the street was delicious, definitely recommend it.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming 🥰. The rooms are quite clean, the surroundings are quiet, and it's easy to get to everything!

We booked two rooms through Booking and arrived expecting to pay the listed price. The woman at reception tried to charge me an extra 650k, saying it was a commission for booking through the app. I'd been travelling in Vietnam for a year and had never run into this before. I always check that the price matches Booking before paying. She said I could cancel if I didn't like it. I said no, she needed to call her manager or I'd file a complaint with Booking.com for misrepresentation. After about 15-20 minutes, she came back and offered the Booking.com price if we cancelled the reservation, apparently so they could avoid the commission. I accepted. Then she handed me two keys, but one room wasn't ready at all. The beds hadn't been made and there was trash everywhere. It was around 2:30 pm, and I'd told her when we were arriving, so there was no excuse. She gave us new keys for a room on another floor, even though we'd wanted both rooms on the same floor. Not ideal, but whatever. That was all within half an hour. The hotel is well situated in Hue, but the experience was horrible and they barely seemed sorry. After two nights, I won't be coming back.
